Srinagar 25th May 2018 (KNO) : Unity is key to our success and only weapon with which we can triumph over falsehood. Slogans of development and economic growth have always been used by India to deny our freedom and right to self determination. Distance from religion has corrupted our society and put our social fabric in jeopardy.

This was stated by the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik while addressing a gathering at Masjid Imam-U-Zaman, the bund Srinagar today. Stressing upon the need of strengthening unity among the ranks and files of Muslim Ummah, JKLF chairman in his speech said that we all believe in one Allah and his last Messenger (SAW), recite one Kalima, pray towards one Kaabah and follow one Quran and hence should stand united in all aspects of life.

He said that enemy wants to divide us in the name of sects and creed and it is the duty of Ulema and Imams to forge and strengthen unity among our ranks. While referring to recent statement of Indian Prime Minister Nerander Modi during his Kashmir visit in which he talked about development and peace, JKLF chairman said that every occupational power talks about peace, progress and development of the occupied land and lures oppressed people with the slogans of development, government jobs, quality life and other materialistic things like these. India from last seventy years has been doing the same and trying to pacify or deny our right to freedom and self-determination by various means of corruption like stated above but all this has yielded India nothing but shame, said JKLF chairman.

In fact this delay in resolving the basic issue of Jammu Kashmir by talks of development and progress has turned Kashmiris more brave more resilient and more passionate for their freedom and right to self determination, asserted Yasin Malik. He said that without the resolution of Jammu Kashmir dispute, talks of peace, stability, progress and development are and will remain a distant dream and hence wasting time in camouflaging and denial can only add to more instability and decline and hence should be shunned as soon as possible. He said that Kashmir issue is a reality and no camouflaging or luring can deny or ridicule this reality.

Therefore it is necessary to accept this reality and resolve the dispute on Jammu Kashmir in accordance to the wishes, aspirations, sacrifices and demands of the people of Kashmir as this can only ensure peace, stability and progress of south Asia and the world. On Modi Jee remarks about prosper Kashmir, JKLF chairman asked that how can Kashmiri who receive body bags of their loved ones on daily bases remain prosperous and happy and how can one be happy with his eye sight lost or body bruised by pellets.

Taking a dig on capitalism, JKLF chairman said that it has in fact ruined the very basic of our society and today we all have turned so worldly that morality and ethics are of no value for us. This urge for more money and more luxuries has taken away humility and modesty from us and today we see worst kind of anarchy and social disposition in our society which is really heartbreaking. He said that our Ulema, religious scholars, Imams and social leaders need to sit together and deliberate upon this situation and work for the betterment of our society on priority basis. JKLF chairman said that every one of us knows about the importance of Zakat as it is one of the basic pillars of our faith.

Zakat is to be utilized for needy, downtrodden, prisoners and other means like these and today our society is full of orphans, kith and kin of martyrs, needy people, prisoners and those who are in dire need of our help. We all should give priority to these people and try to utilize our Zakat and other contributions for these deserving so that no one among us remains hungry or without basic necessities of life. Meanwhile JKLF chairman has strongly condemned the use of pellets and bullets by Indian forces and police at Nowhata and parts of Sher-I-Khas in which dozens of young boys have been injured among whom many have received pellets in their eyes. Terming this as police highhandedness, JKLF chairman prayed for the early recovery of those injured.
